I own an Epson 670 Stylus color printer which appears to have a clogged printhead, and which fails to clear using the recommended Epson Printer Utilities, even with a new cartridge. In desperation, I have cut the top off an old ink cartridge, cleaned the insides thoroughly, and have left it loaded in the printer as a "soak" reservoir containing various flush solutions, including pure Isopropanol, another made up with more Iso and distilled water with a couple of drops of Kodak "Photoflo", and a final one made up from water-based flush-cleaners made for cleaning out water-based air-brush equipment. None has managed to clear the head. I am reluctant to attempt to force cleaner through the head in case I damage the piezo actuators. Epson is singularly obtuse when contacted for advice, and none of their FAQ listings comes anywhere near the advice I require.
If anybody has had experience in dealing with this problem I would be most interested in hearing details.
