John, You did a pretty good job in describing your scale. The "movement or mechanism", are called levers. The classification of this scale, in my opinion, is a mechanical butcher/deli scale.As far as what it may be worth? It's hard to say without actually seeing it and being able to test it for accuracy.You might want to offer it on ebay or some other sort of auction site. I wouldnt expect to receive alot for it though.There are many types if these scales on auction.
