no dont do that!! jump wire 51 to 90, that jumps alledged bad resistor out of circiut, then check across weld output terminals where your ground and electrode cable hook to with volt meter, if welding dc it should be 60 to 80 volts dc roughly, if u are having trouble figuring out wiring and parts, u need to have machine looked at but i will try to help u, good luck
