the primary is 120 volt , the secondary is 3500 volt.then there is another inductor,wound with flat copper strip.in the winding there is three partial windings(a simple capacitor ?)I've got what appears to be a stable, even arcing at the point gaps,with the gaps cleaned and set to about 0.007 thou.when i strike an arc with no argon,it will carry across about half an inch,but with no intensity,i.e. very little current,even with the primary welder set at 100 amps.is this normal?again thanks for any info larry
