Ummm, you screwed, your 225 merely moves a shunt across a field. No Rheostat, no Potentiometer. It would be somewhat technical to spin your shunt in and out with a motor, and kinda pointless. What your looking for is any AC or ac/dc machine with the Rheostat or Pot. These types of machines generally have a Remote hookup.
If your doing lots of welding, check out a ShopMaster. They are single phase, are multiprocess and there is lots of used ones around.
