That's a tough one. Since a galvanized coating IS Zinc, I think you're going to have a problem. You'll be breathing the same fumes, I assume. If the flame burns greenish, it's zinc. Nasty stuff. Good luck. Maybe if you have one of those respirators with the cartridges worn on the belt it may keep you from breathing the fumes. All it takes is a few accidental inhalations and you'll be dizzy and feel like throwing-up. However, you will feel okay by the next day.
