On the old SA-200 that normally should use a 6 volt battery, the seller told me that he uses a 12 volt battery and it doesn't hurt anything? Is this correct? I understand that the magnito supplies the power to the plugs, but how is the battery affected? I don't want to damage anything on this machine because it's a "keeper."

On the old Onan driven DC-225 / 3-AS, on the used one I bought to rebuild, is that a 6 or 12 volt system? A past owner had installed a third 6 gauge cable with a large alligator clip that appears should also connect to a battery.
