You can build servo motor drive by using LM629 from National semiconductor. It is a motion control chip that can control dc servo in position mode. it can drive one servo so you must build PCB with two LM629 and 8-bit microcontroller such as AT89S52. this chip receive position information from encoder connected to servo motor. have a look on its data sheet at www.national.com
