You would ned to request that your forwarding agent covers the insurance of the product. If you dont ask, the goods will be shipped without proper maritime insurance. If you ship on a CIF basis (cost, insurance and freight0 it means you, the shipper needs to cover the insurance. Granted shipping lines have insuranc eto cover eventualities, but this does not cover the 'all risks' clauses and other clauses are not included. You could approach any maritime insurance firm (example Commerial Union) and ask them for a spot quote. Remeber to add 10 percent onto your sales price. The insurance ownt costs you much.

Remember to date the insurance prior to the ETD date
