hi, i'm an aviation specialist that works on Chaff and Flare system of the F-16. Recently i found that the carbon deposit left on the chaff & flare dispenser housing causes malfunctions to the system. I tried removing the carbon deposit on the dispenser by using metal brush and contact cleaner, and also the electrolyte bathtub. It does help to remove all the carbon deposit from the dispenser but, somehow removed the protective layer of the aluminium(the aluminium decoloured) also. It has created a more serious corrosion after the protective layer was removed.
I would like to know if there are any methods that i can use to remove the stubborn carbon deposit. At the same time, if there are any coating compound that i can use to re-coat those dispensers without protective layer.
