Are you using software that is designed to drip feed the machine or are you trying to DNC using software designed for file transfer.
If you constantly get a buffer overflow alarm, either the machine or the PC is not getting or responding to the stop sending (Xoff) signal. When the machine buffer is full, the control should send a stop signal to the PC until room has been freed up and then it should send a send signal to resume until the buffer is full again.
SO, either the machine is not sending the signals or the PC is not responding to them. Verify what protocol your control needs, i.e.-Xmodem; Xon/Xoff; Zmodem????? Then make sure that your DNC software parameters are set accordingly.
The fact that you get the buffer full alarm would indicate that your wireing sounds ok.
