I have a small machine shop in Waukesha, WI. I do most of my work for a medium sized local company. I am trying to get more work from other companies but no luck. I know the economy is not great but I had this problem before the downturn. Right now I send out flyers with my business card and equipment list. Then I follow up with a phone call. When I call, I rarely get to talk to a purchasing agent, and when I do get to talk to one, they are not interested because "they already have their vendors". I could be cheaper, better, more timely than their current vendors but there's no way to prove when they don't give me a chance. Anyone else have the same experience? Any thing I could be doing better or different? Help me out guys!
