Hello - no, this is an ongoing item. We wish to sell both a) a "notching" service as well as the equipment for our customers to notch their own tubes. NO on the acces opening. Tolerences are fairly broad - not too tight. Notch width .040", notch length .25" up to 1", no spec on the finish.

Pipe is typical 4140 steel seamless. No, the notch has to be machind from the internal surface of the pipe. The pipe belongs to our customer or is secured by us and sold to our customer.

We are currently using EDM technology but believe that a miniature cutting device can be used to reach or travel up into the tube to do what we need.

Thanks for your response!
