Is this a one time job? I dont know of any standard manufacturing equipment that can do it but I can visualize some custom stuff such as broaching or slitting. Can an access opening be machined in on the opposite side? How close are the tolerances, Width, length, position and finish? Is the steel pipe seemless? Can the slot be machined thru the wall thickness of the pipe? Is it your own product?
