Hello, thanks alot for the replies.Just out of curiosity, but before the advent of the CNC lathe, was a conventional Lathe (manual) Turner (someone who has specialised in Turning as opposed to other Lathe operations in case your in the US)expected to achieve a similiar level of precision for exacting components/products on a conventional lathe as those produced on a CNC lathe?.For example alot of engine components for aircraft/motor vehichles etc seem to require a high degree of precision. How was this achieved prior to CNC machinery? Thanks alot for any information.Regards Ron
