We are carrying out a lot of tapping on radial drilling machines & on multi spindle tapping machines. we are facing problems of chip evacuation after tapping. The main material of workpiece is Grey Cast Iron. Can this problem be solved by use of taps with through coolant or air holes? Also we are using keroscene based coolant & neat oils for tapping. Is it possible to carry out tapping in cast iron without coolant?
