A C washer is A washer that has a slot cut in it from the outside diameter into the bore in the middle. One of the uses is that if you wish to clamp a part down to a machine table through a hole then you slide the part over a stud then slide the C Washer over the stud then do up the nut. Using this you dont have to remove the nut each time. Hope this helps
