Sorry for the delay in answering your post! I've been on the road in the North east part of the country for the last three weeks.
Around the world terminology can sometimes get quite confusing. Job titles in the machine tool industry are usually rather descriptive of the job function. A Turner would be a lathe opertor/setup person. Depending on his experience as to which level he would be classified. The best bet is to not get too hung up on titles.
