That is the accepted way, but in my experience the designer turns out a drawing. The turner deciphers it, spots any mistakes and corrects them!Then the process of manufacture is decided. If needed, liason with the milling section is used to ensure that the right process is attained. The prototype part (or first off) is checked and if necessary, sent to the customer for approval.
