Hi all,

I want to add MAINS protection to a sensitive DC circuit.
I.e., if MAINS is applied to my 12V DC circuit accidentally, i want to be able to clamp it before it damages my circuit.

Anyone with experience of doing this ? if so, how ?

I am thinking of using a quick blow fuse, then a metal oxide varistor with a clamp voltage of say 20VAC. Do you think the varistor will be fast enough ?
Response time typically <25nS

Vbr,
Darren
