Actually there is a possibility here.
If you were to set up a standard practice putting green, and then moniter to put with two TV cameras you could then reconstruct (in 3d) the complete shot for playback and analysis.
The development advantage is that all of the development could basically be done on Linux with free software and off the shelf cameras. A lot of work though.
I think the 3D part would add something to the field that isn't available. The reconstruction theory is simple and known since the 1960's; it's a laugh to see people coming out with a "new" thing.
In any case, I know nothing about golf so such a thing might already be done.
