Please be aware that I don't recomend your designing this with your indicated background. Typically these are used to control devices that could cause damage if something goes wrong.
If you proceed please be carefull and understand all of the information in the application notes.
Think about "outsourcing" the design.
I could do it at a leasurly pace ( I have a real job), or recomnend somebody I know that I think could do a good job.
