OPALPORT is a UK coy that manufactured Battery Condition Monitors. They became insolvent in 1997.
THe OPALPORT Battery Condition Monitor uses a module called a Cell Data Gatherer to monitor the voltage in each cell that comprises a battery for a Emergency Lighting system.
It appears that OPALPORT manufactured three different types of Cell Data Gatherers; each for a different type of battery: 2 volt, 6 volt and 12 volt. My client has changed from a 6 volt battery to a 12 volt battery. THe client does not have a 12 volt Cell Data Gatherer: No spares are available. Can I upgarde the 6 volt CDG to a 12 volt CDG. Hardware changes (resistors) are feasible. Does the software in the resident micro-controller need to be changed?
