Engineering, Queen's University in Kingston Ontario Canada, invites
applications for a postdoctoral position in the area of Sensor Design
and Development.
The position will deal with the design and development of a sensor to
measure forces in a mechanical wood-pulp refiner. A prototype has been
designed, built and
tested in a lab-scale refiner. Further analysis and testing of this
sensor is to be conducted. Subsequently, a new sensor, for installation
and testing in a pilot-scale
refiner, is to be developed.
Persons applying for this position with experience in one or more of the
following areas will be an asset to the project:
· Finite Element Modeling
· Piezo-ceramic devices
· Mechanical Design
· Instrumentation
· Experimental Vibration Analysis
Funding is set at $32,000 (Canadian $) per year, applications received
before September 1st 2000 will be given priority.
