Why don't you just buy some multichannel CB's/Walky-Talkies and use them? Everybody has a listen frequency and the sender just dials the frequency he wants to talk to.
This would have great flexability and would work independent of power lines; and in emergancies.

I'd like to help you but I doubt if I can.
Do you know anything about electronics; if not you would do well to buy and intercom system.
There is a tree structured system (one to eight) for $800. I don't know the price for a full interconnected system.
I did design a neat one 30 years ago using ribbon cable but it's been a long time and I would have to recreate it from scratch.
Even a design wouldn't help you if you didn't know how to construct or troubleshoot.
Internet's great but not that great.
