Several robot and motion control manufacturers sell systems that can be configured to suit various robot arm configurations. Adept from USA are top shelf but expensive www.adept.com. I have used their system on a SCARA robot. There are others that can be found on the web. Also try www.americanrobot.com and www.triomotion.com both of these companies sell motion systems that can do robot kinematics but I haven't used either
