BESTune is an easy to use computer software that can be used to optimize industrial PI and PID controllers. With not less than 200~300 samples of CO (controller output) and PV (process variable), BESTune can quickly calculate the best values for the three PID controller constants.

Main features of BESTune version 4:

(1) Users can specify the tightness of the PID controller when optimizing its settings;
(2) When optimizing your PID settings, you can specify the admissible range for each of the three PID parameters;
(3) Users can preview the performance of the optimally tuned PID controller (i.e. do the what if simulation);
(4) BESTune gives the user an opportunity to preview the performance of his/her manually tuned or existing PID loop and quantitatively evaluate the manual tuned or existing PID controller. This tells the user how large the potential is to re-tune the controller;
(5) Closed-loop data can be used for PID tuning, as long as these data show the dynamics of the process. Thus, there is no interruption to the normal operation of your process;
(6) PID tuning for processes with long time delay is no longer a difficult task with BESTune;
(7) Tuning is quick (less than 1 second);
(8) The core and fully functional part of BESTune is only 76 kilo bytes, which makes it easy to be built into the controller.
