Hey,

Be patient, since I'm new to this in pretty much every way.

I want to build an infrared emitter/detector pair which will detect when the beam is broken. I need to keep the IR beam focused and bright, since it might have to carry for up to 10 feet. Is there a way to do this without modulation? Any tips or ideas on what to try? Circuits or parts that might be useful?

Thanks,

Ryan
