The place I would start is with the manufacturer of BK7, Schott Optical, http://www.schott.com/english/index.html.
Ask how the glass is certified to the grade and how the annealing process works. In addition, ask if there any ASTM compositon or processing standards the glass is compared against. Lastly, use this information to question your supplier on their product.
