Dear All,

I would like to irradiate some plant material with 100, 200, ..1000 Gy doses using an old X-ray machine available. But the operator does not know how to give such doses using the available buttons. The X-ray machine is "Gemma X-Ray Generator 500 mA, 125 or 150 KV".

Infact, we irradiated some pollen at 30, 60, 100, 140 kV and all at 100 mA for one second at a distance of 1 meter.

My questions are then:
1. Using the kV, mA and duration buttons how can I adjust the machine to produce the required X-ray doses.
2. Which doses (GY) do the kV, mA and duration I already used corresponds.

I would be greatfull if you could help me find out about the calculation of the doses.
