I am looking for information on the meaning of x-ray specs. such as resolution expressed as 38 AWG, 40 typical; Penetration: 27 mm steel, etc. I have a general idea what these mean and have read ASTM Standard F 792-88 which describes the test methods. However, I could use a plainer description or a source to educate myself further. My work involves evaluating x-ray devices used to scan passenger bags for weapons and explosives. Any help would be appreciated.
