Thanks for the reply. I think that's exactly what I need to do, but without published specifications for every tube I encounter, I would have no idea what is "correct". I will probably have to compile my own empirically derived chart that shows curves for the various good tubes I encounter. It may be tedious, and take years to complete, but I suspect there is no other way!
