The binder proposed is a 2 part system. Part 1 will be the phenolic resin and part 2 is usually PTSA or para toulene sulphonic acid. All major suppliers like Foseco produce this system eg Foset 11, Foset 400 etc.

The question is, will sulphonic acid hardener or its constituents cause S buildup in the sand and affect the spherodising process?
