I am trying to find if there is an industry wide problem with casting porosity that has increased over the last 2 years or so. I have experienced a sharp increase in casting scrap due to internal porosity across many suppliers in different geographical locations. I am wondering if a change in chemicals used to process the green sand may contribute or if there is some other outside influence in this process.
Is anyone else noticing this problem?
