The typical application of Cerium mischmetal (Cer MM) / rare earth used as the additive desulphurisation and modification.

For example :
a Germany-based metallurgical company produce a kind of wire treatment with the following chemical composition :
Cerium Mischmetal(Cer MM) 1.2% ( 2.2gm )
Magnesium 33.7% (63gm)
Iron Remainder
From the above composition, only add a small quantity of Cerium mischmetal, can make accurate and cost effective method of producing ductile and vermicular irons with a one shot treatment of desulphurisation and graphite modification by means of preconditioning of melts. As we knew that such kind of cored wire containing Cerium Mischmetal was widely used in steelmaking, cast iron treatment, ductile iron foundry, etc., metallurgical industry.
