We anneal (not induction melt) 300 series stainless steel wire in a hydrogen atmosphere (believe it or not). We have tried an erert gas (argon) but the cost didn't support the change from hydrogen. It is quite simple, we anneal wire through pipes in an oven in which a positive pressure of hydrogen is fed in. Flow rate of hydrogen is critical (it is explossive if too high a flow ie. hindenburg). We have control / check valves in many places to control flow. I don't know if this will help you with induction melting
