This is true. We do not monitor boron in our ductile iron. However on the first day after rekinibg the induction furnace with boric acid containing refractory, we always noticed that the pearlite in pearlitic ductile iron grades is lower than usual. We have overcome this problem by alloying with Tin instead of Copper to get pearlite.
