Inoculation treatment is always desirable in order to get the desired microstructure,ie in terms of graphite shape size and distribution and also matrix .
It is advisable to use stream inoculation as this will improve the efficiency of inoculation and reduce the possibility of fading effect. Also the metal will be uniformly treated with the inoculant.
Normally inoculants are rich in Silicon with minor additions of Ca,Ba, Sr, or rare earths.
