We heat treated 12hrs 220 deg c tin aluminium alloy castings and the required hardness went high, to about 100 hrh.
again we precipated it at 500 deg c for about an hour and the hardness went low to 82 hrh.
can some one tell how one can control the hardness to its requirement of 90 to 95 hrh in this alloy.
sn = 5 to 7% cu = 0.7 to 1.3 ni = 0.7 to 1.3 mg = 0.7 max
