The best ionizer I have found is from Ramsey electronics.

It is a kit that costs about 60 dollars.
You will need a 150 watt soldering gun in order to properly construct parts of this kit such as the pins and copper wind tubes.
Conventional pencil type iron is necessary for the electronics portion.
This ion generator is so powerful, it produces a wind comparable to a very small fan. The needles actually produce a corona glow at the tips. Something I have never seen from other ion generators I have experimented with.
The needles in the kit are actually nails. Put them in a drill chuck and place the spinning tips against a fine file to sharpen them. Then polish the tips as sharp as possible with wetted hobby glass sanding paper. This will increase the output efficiency.
The entire house no longer feels "congested" and the houseplants seem to like it.
Musty odors from showers etc are also gone now as well.
I would not suggest using this unit in a small sealed room since the ion/ozone output is considerably high and the resulting ozone concentrations in a small room could be harmful.
