The actual size of the market is difficult.....no central clearing mechanism exists and the few traders ( such as ourselves ) are trying to keep customers etc private from each other.
We estimate that approx 2 MT of Sc2O3 equivalent is used each year. Production is about 400 kg. The difference is made up from stocks.
Almost none of this is Sc metal...10 kg a year ?
Al\Sc and Sc2O3 make up the balance of the market.
It is likely that over the next 5 years there will be an expansion of the market....this depends on new technologies under development.
