Dear Hsushen:

Let me firs point out that I have limited experience with rolling in general, and none whatsoever with rolling of 7xxx alloys in particular. However, it is possible that I can contribute with some meaningful input, provided that I understand the problem that you experience.

- What is the thermomechanical history of the material prior to rolling?
- Is it hot rolling or cold rolling?
- In which manner is the alloy too hard? Does it crack during rolling, or is the deformation resistance too high for your rolling mill?
- Do you experience the same problem with Sc-free 7005, or is this a problem that is caused by the Sc addition?

Some input about these issues will be very helpful for making meaningfull suggestions about how to solve the problem.

Best Regards,

Jostein Røyset
