I have built a Intercom for ultralight use using the motorola MC34119P chip, I copied the sample circuit as shown on the datasheet and added a small preamp circuit (found somewhere on the web) for the electret mic.

It works OK but I would like to see if I could improve it.
On the data sheet it shows three different circuit layouts.
I am using the simlified application.
The other two are one with BASS supression and one with Bandpass.

What does this mean ? and which suits my application the best?
