Not being an IC designer, I am not sure, but assume that Csb, Cdb and Cgd are small and can be neglected for an approximate model. No doubt the small signal model would not work if you were operating at the upper limit of frequency for these transistors.

Yes, the common gate and common drain models use the same simplified parameters.
