Now that is really cool!

I was in a chorale here on Long Island for thirteen years and it was the finest thing I think I've ever experienced.

I used to love being in the bass section helping to create what I thought of as a foundation while listening to the four other sections, tenor, alto, second soprano and first soprano create these incredible musical constructs above us.

The music was a choral arrangement of Rimsky-Korsakov's Scherazde, selections by Duke Ellington, the music from Showboat, but the ultimate challenge was the early polyphonic music of Palestrina. Oh my Lord! It really SEEMED so simple, but what a lesson in humility THAT turned out to be.

I guess you can see I was kind of into it, wasn't I?
