I guess you and I have a little more in common. I, too, have been involved in choral singing, a baritone/bass since my voice changed. Mom "forced" me to join the church choir where I learned all that I know about choral singing. We had a really lousy choral program at school, and our church choir director whipped that choir up into the finest church choir in the St. Louis metro area back in the late '60s. So, I learned far more there that I would have in the school chorus. Besides, I was too busy with band at school, playing bass clarinet.
