splitting video signal will result in a lost of video signal, so if you plan to use 2 monitors on the same port, you'll get half of the brightness on each monitor, (not that good)

or you can buy a booster especialy made for this, (worth about 30 $)

or buy a dual head video card (worth more than 100$)
