There are good number of dedicated clock ICs.
Good old TMS 1943LS, MM5387, 5402 are very good and may be still around.i HAVE CLOCKS WITH THEM WORKING FOR TWENTY YEARS OR MORE.

TMS3450, LM8560,IL8560 DRIVE DUPLEX DISPLAYS.
YOU CAN DOWNLOAD IL8560 DATA SHEET FROM
BEL MICROSYSTEMS WEBSITE. IF YOU NEED, I WILL SEND THEM ACROSS.
I UNDERSTAND TEXAS AND SANYO HAVE STOPPED PRODUCTION OF THESE ICs
BUT LM 8560 IS AVAILABLE
