The Dissy setup I'm using is a full locked setup with a malory dual spark setup. Basicaly I have the standard dissy with the centrifical and vacum advances locked, the ignition timing is taken care of by the seperate malory unit. There is a straight tacho output on the malory that is independent of the advance mechanism, thus eliminating any floating in the signal. Sorry, should have said 6 per camshaft revolution, wasnt thinking!
Alternatively, I could set up a couple of fixed magnets on the crank pulley at the front of the motor (would need at least 2 for ballance) and run a sensor off those
