Hello. Do I read you correctly -- you want to end up with a 24 vdc power supply @ 5000 amps derived from 240 vac ?

If so, it sounds as if you might be better off with an industrial welder. Omitting losses, this works out to having to provide 120 Kws -- I hope that your mains supply is a big one.
